Responsibilities:

• Building prototype samples for the required parts/assemblies

• Ensuring good quality for the prototyping parts as per drawings

• Dimensional and visual quality checks on prototypes

• DFM feedback from suppliers and information relying to part design team

• Comparison of multiple part suppliers based on quality, costing, timeline etc.

• In-house lab for prototype building

• In-house assembly of motors, gearboxes etc.

• Root cause analysis for various protos in case of field failures.

• Conceptualization and design of various prototyping and assembly jigs

• 3D design and GD&T drawings of various parts and assemblies

• Active communication with suppliers for DFM and parts manufacturing.

• Setting up various quality control protocols and methods for the prototype quality

• Comparison and selection between various manufacturing processes for prototype manufacturing.

• Creation of supplier database and supplier capability chart based on field data

• Manage prototype timelines and sequences based on priority order defined by Product team.

• Support ongoing/continuous product and process improvement

• Root cause analysis for various field problems

• Drive failure analysis, root cause efforts, and design of experiments to resolve problems

• Provide data and technical guidance for product architecture development efforts
